How do I copy my most recently taught section# into a TEMPLATE or new section#?

NOTE: Sections older than 4 quarters should be reviewed by the appropriate Department Chair or team members to ensure assessments and activities align with current LOs.

You do not have to duplicate course verification/validation or setup each quarter. Once you have properly set up a section (please refer to the Instructor Checklist), you can Copy that to a variety of locations (e.g., into a blank TEMPLATE, into a future/new section).

Course Reset and Copy

  1. Enter desired TEMPLATE or new section to wipe/replace.
    • **If this is a shared TEMPLATE of which you are not the primary contact and/or if it has both NFC and ONL options, please reach out for support.**
  2. Use Course Reset on an unedited/incomplete TEMPLATE or new section (CANNOT BE RESTORED!)
  3. Copy the updated section (any courseID) into desired TEMPLATE or new section
    1. Course Tools > Course Admin
    2. Import / Export / Copy Components
    3. Use “Copy Components from another Org Unit” > Search for Offering
    4. Type in the 5-digit section# or course code > press Search
    5. Select the desired 5-digit section# or TEMPLATE > Add Selected
    6. Select Copy All Components
  4. After you see “Copy Completed” and a green checkmark, all items should be present.
  5. Check Banner text on Course Home. If the course name or section# is missing/incorrect:
    1. hover over banner image
    2. click on the Banner settings (3 dots) in top right corner of image > Customize Banner Text
    3. select Course Name to autofill > Save
  6. Use View Content or Content in the gray navbar to move to the full Table of Contents for your TEMPLATE or new section

Other use cases:

  • ONL and NFC versions live in different TEMPLATES (eg. ABC123-TEMPLATE (ONL version), ABC124-TEMPLATE (NFC version)
  • Program-specific version live in different TEMPLATES (eg. CUL142-TEMPLATE (BKP version), CUL143-TEMPLATE (CUL version)
