Why Should I Use the Question Library?

We recommend that you use the Question Library whenever you need to build assessment questions for quizzes, self-assessments, and surveys. You may be wondering, “Why I should build in the Question Library instead of the assessment tools themselves? Can’t I build questions in both places?” You can, but there are some fantastic benefits of using the Question Library!

Benefits of Using the Question Library

  1. The questions that you build in the Question Library can be used in three of the Brightspace Learning Environment assessment tools: quizzes, surveys, and self-assessments.
  2. When you use questions built in the Question Library, you can view the number of attempts made on that question across different assessments in your course. This means that you can see the average grade, a breakdown of learner responses to this question, and how many attempts there are at answering this particular question.
  3. You can search and filter for specific question types, point allotment, and question title. Watch this feature in action to see how it can help you!
  4. If we want to challenge our learners - and make it hard to share answers - we can choose to randomize the questions included in a quiz. To do this, you need to build in the Question Library! Are you interested in learning how to randomize questions in your quiz? Check out Create a Quiz with a Randomized Set of Questions for more information.
